Jai Lao Foundation Names 2012 National Jai Lao Scholarship Recipients

San Ramon, CA (December 25, 2011) – The Jai Lao Foundation today announced the eight recipients of the Jai Lao Foundation’s 2012 National Jai Lao Scholarships. Two recipients will receive $2,000 each and the remaining six recipients will receive $1,000 each.
“We take great pride in our scholarship recipients’ accomplishments, academic excellence and commitment to the preservation of our Lao heritage, as well as their immense dedication to serving the Lao community” said Foundation CEO Soutkita Reagan. “The inaugural class of scholarship recipients is particularly inspiring, and we’re confident that our scholarship recipients will make many valuable contributions to the Lao community in the years to come.”
The 2012 National Jai Lao Scholarship recipients are:
$2,000 Scholarship Recipients:
- Alyssa Phimmasone. Alyssa is from Portland, OR and will be attending Linfield College in McMinnville, OR.
- Brandon Baccam. Brandon is from Stockton, CA and is a High School senior applying to
attend college in CA in Fall 2012.
- Arthur Savangsy. Arthur is from Oakland, CA and is attending Berkeley City College in
Berkeley, CA. - Saengthong Douangdara. Saengthong is from Madison, WI and is attending the University of
Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, WI. - Phetmanie Keodouangdy. Phetmanie is from Montgomery, AL and is a High School senior
applying to attend college in AL in Fall 2012. - Alex Phasy. Alex is from Minneapolis, MN and is attending the University of
Minnesota in the Twin Cities, MN. - Anourack Khampraseuth. Anourack is from Fresno, CA and is attending Fresno State University
in Fresno, CA. - Amanda Sisongkham. Amanda is from Fontana, CA and is a High School senior applying to
attend college in CA in Fall 2012.
