Jai Lao understands that one of the most basic fundamental human need and right is hygiene or the preservation of health, and this is so essential to a healthier and happier way of life. For this reason, Jai Lao supplies personal hygiene/dental kits to villages and schools often in too rural of locations to have access to these fundamental necessities. In addition, Jai Lao helps village families have access to clean drinking water by providing them with water purification units in their homes and in the schools.
- Baan Paktapanh sits along the Mekong River in Salavan province. Jai Lao provided the 210 families with dental and personal hygiene kits as well as school supply kits to all the students of both schools in the village. We also provided ceiling fans and sports equipments.
- Banh Na Don Keo is a village in the southern province of Salavan. In October of 2009 that region of Laos was hit with a devastating typhoon that destroyed livestock, rice fields, and left many without food and water. Jai Lao brought donations of livestock, food, water, rice, and personal hygiene to 135 families affected by the typhoon. We returned to provide the school and all 135 households clean water purification units and school supplies including backpacks for all 78 students.
- Baan Hat Kham lies along the Ou River in the northern province of Luang Prabang where Jai Lao provided 54 Khmu families with personal hygiene kits, blankets, clothes, winter gloves and scarves to help with the cold winters in that part of the country.
- Baan Phou Nong Kuay is a picturesque village high in the mountains of Luang Prabang province where the winters can get quite harsh. Jai Lao brought winter clothes, eyewear, and personal hygiene kits to the villagers. In addition, we provided them with sports equipment and school supplies.
Donation drives are aimed specifically to collect certain items villages in rural Laos are in need of. It may be dental or personal care kits, eyewear, or warm winter wear for the cold northern regions of Laos. Throughout the year, Jai Lao will have a couple of donation drives, and it generally will be right before our humanitarian service trips. You can periodically check back on our website for updates about our donation drives or our Fan page on Facebook will give up to date informations about our village donation drive needs.
