Southern Laos Flood Relief
Several provinces in central and southern (Champasack, Salavan, Sekong, Khammuan, Attapeu and Savannahkhet) Laos are struggling to deal with floods after days of heavy rain unleased by a tropical storm. Salavan province got hit the hardest with as many as 183 villages in three districts severely affected, and 41 villages have lost contact with authorities and are completely out of reach. Many villages have been completely destroyed and underwater and their desperate fight for their homes, livestock, and crops is being lost to the relentless storm. Thousands of people are now in need of food and drinking water, while some provinces need boats to rescue families still trapped on rooftops of their homes. You can always rest assure that 100% of your hard earned money donated to Jai Lao will be used to help the people in need. And the time they need the most help from us khone Lao overseas is now.
